I’m Simon and this website is intended to be an outlet for the creative side of me.
I’m a techie at heart and if you like, you can take a look at my main website: http://simonmott.co.uk (opens in new window)
What is “General Photography”?
General Photography is where I exhibit my work. I do this primarily in the style of what could loosely be called a Photo Blog. Each of my posts are about a specific subject and usually have multiple images attached as a gallery.
I am currently enjoying as many different types of photography as I can but I haven’t yet settled on a particular genre of photography I want to specialize in; which is the reason I created this website (And is the reason its called “General Photography”). It is a place for me to document my progress as a photographer and to act as a kind of portfolio of my work.
I’m an amateur which means that all of these images are taken in my spare time or are of a topic that interests me.
I’ve always had an interest in photography even from an early age but I could never get used to dealing with film so my interest slowly died out – At the time, digital cameras for the general public were a myth).
Up until recently I’ve not really had the money to invest in a decent camera system but with my move to Manchester I had the money available and I went for it. I bought my first DSLR
